This practical workshop is designed specifically for members of the DAA who are new to working with the Housing Choice Voucher Program or need a refresher on the voucher process. Using real-world, step-by-step approach, we will walk through the entire process from a prospective resident asking if you accept vouchers, through submitting the Request for Tenancy Approval (RFTA), lease execution, inspection, HAP contract and receipt of your first payment.

 The session will focus on what landlords actually experience in day-to-day operations, including timelines, required forms, common delays, rent reasonableness, inspections, lease renewals and how to avoid common mistakes that can slow down leasing or payment.

 This will be an interactive session with ample time for open discussion and questions. Attendees are encouraged to bring real examples including RFTAs, notices, voucher related documents, or specific situation they have encountered or are currently navigating. This workshop is intended to provide practical guidance and clear answers so housing providers can confidently and efficiently comply with Delaware’s source of income requirements.
